Anibal Cruz Performs Live at Boston’s Fan Pier as part of Free, Outdoor “Music on the Green” Summer Concert Series

What:
A free and open to the public outdoor concert by Anibal Cruz overlooking Boston Harbor from The Green at Fan Pier, an open park space in the vibrant waterfront neighborhood.

The performance is part of the “Fan Pier Music on the Green” summer concert series, which brings live music to the waterfront on select dates throughout the summer and is part of Berklee College of Music’s “Summer in the City” concert series, which offers live performances at more than 200 venues throughout Boston now through September.

Spectators are invited to bring picnics and blankets to The Green to enjoy Anibal’s Afro-Cuban jazz and classical piano arrangements. They will also have the opportunity to purchase provisions, wine and beer from Strega Waterfront while they watch the band from the deck on The Green.

Who:
Berklee piano student Anibal Cruz brings to the table music rooted in the styles of classical music and Afro-Cuban jazz. He graduated from the Jose White Conservatory in Camaguey, Cuba and from Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, Cuba. He has a strong presence in the Latin music scene around the Boston area, both as a freelance musician and as leader of the Latin jazz band Clave and Blues. Anibal’s playing style is influenced by his Cuban piano heritage and the sounds of Chucho Valdez, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and Tony Perez as well as jazz icons like Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock.
