Three Latinx organizations in Massachusetts, Hyde Square Task Force, Amplify Latinx, and Ágora Cultural Architects, come together to keep Latino culture buzzing with #CadenciaLatina: Performances from home.
On June 7th at 7pm, Angel Subero, a Venezuelan musician and faculty member at Berklee School of music and Longy School of Music of Bard College will be performing the Trombone on Facebook Live. Subero will be joined by incredibly talented musician, Wilson Vera on the guitar. Angelo Subero is a widely recognized Venezuelan trombonist who has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra and many others. Alongside his performances, he is a member of the award winning Triton Brass Quintet and has collaborated with conductors such as James Levine and Seiji Ozawa as well appeared with artists such as Chris Botti, Aretha Franklin, Rockapella, The Ebony’s, among others. He has been playing the trombone since he was 13 years old and has since made a name for himself in Venezuela and New England. Amplify Latinx is a non-partisan, collaborative movement whose mission is to build Latinx economic and political power by significantly increasing Latinx civic engagement and representation in leadership positions across sectors.
Hyde Square Task Force’s mission is to amplify the power, creativity, and voices of youth, connecting them to Afro-Latin culture and heritage so they can create a diverse, vibrant Latin Quarter and build a just, equitable Boston.
