National nonprofit American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC) announced today it is hosting a free financial education webinar on ‘Basics of Banking’ on Thursday, May 13 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm ET.
Hosted by Community Educator Peter Mullen of ACCC, the webinar is designed to review services and products offered by banks and credit unions. These will include types of accounts one can open, services and their advantages/disadvantages, and common investment products that are available. Participants will learn that there is quite an array of choices for them to make which will affect their costs, rates of interest, and rates of return.
Mr. Mullen has served in a variety of financial services and training roles for over three decades for for-profit and non-profit organizations. His financial services experience began with program and project management on an institution level, but Mr. Mullen has most enjoyed his recent work directly with people in need of homeownership, financial literacy, and counseling. Currently, Mr. Mullen is passionate about improving people’s lives through education, speaking at neighborhood groups, and advocating sound financial well-being techniques.
