The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, saw 20 million people across the country stand up for the environment in a grassroots day of action. Later that year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was established and the Clean Air Act as we know it today was passed. Over the following 50 years, the United States made great strides in restoring and protecting natural resources from water to air to endangered species.

Today, these efforts have been under assault and climate change remains an existential threat. Just as we did 50 years ago, it is time for us to stand together--- amid this unprecedented and turbulent time---and seek science-based policy to protect the planet. Please join us for a presentation and discussion to learn about the work the Appalachian Mountain Club is doing to protect the laws that protect our environment, and how you can help in the months ahead.
