This class will have conversations about traditions and customs in Latin America focusing on but not limited to the Day of the Dead Ofrendas celebration. The tradition of setting up Ofrendas dedicated to the departed dates back to the Pre-Hispanic era. Students will explore the origin of this tradition, when it is celebrated, where it is celebrated, the reasons, and the differences among states and countries that celebrate this tradition. Students will also build an Altar for Ofrendas. This class is recommended for intermediate and advanced students (CEFR B1 and above). Instructor: Jose Lopez Espinosa
