Friends! There's something autumnal in the air and for us that makes us think of classical music and a return to the beauty of Fall in New England. To that end, we've invited THREE killer local classical ensembles to join us in our humble Allston parking lot at Zone 3 – think of it as a mini-Tanglewood! Grab some food from one of our awesome food truck partners and sit under the stars for some timeless music! Below you'll find timing and info on each group:
-6pm--
Rest/Noise
Inspired by Alex Ross's recent terrific book on 20th century music "The Rest is Noise," this young and hungry percussion sextet will play a large excerpt from Michael Gordon's epic "Timber" – think sexy Steve Reich!
-7pm--
Unitas Ensemble
The mission of Unitas is to provide the highest quality performances of Latin-American music, and to inspire and empower the people of the Latino community and the City of Boston! They'll be playing a selection of Latin American favorites.
-8:30pm--
Phoenix
Born from the passionate minds of young Boston musicians, Phoenix was founded with the explicit mission of revitalizing the presentation of orchestral music for modern audiences. They will perform selections by Gandolfi, Schubert, and Dvořák.

ALSO! Our friends at 99.5 WCRB Classical Radio Boston and Opus Affair Boston have agreed to partner with us on this concert and we're using it as a sneak preview for our 'pindrop sessions' partnership with WCRB* set to launch October 1 with a performance of Beethoven's monumental 5th Symphony in our Somerville taproom, featuring the Boston Chamber Symphony conducted by Avlana Eisenberg. The Boston Globe just wrote a little bit about this:
During the event you’ll also have the opportunity to make a donation for Thrift Story a community storytelling event we’re co-hosting with three public radio producers and the PRX Podcast Garage next week (Wednesday, September 20). The event will be like a yard-sale but with a catch: all donated items will have their backstories attached to them on an index card. A donations box will be available at the PRX Podcast Garage through Tuesday, September 19.
We'll see you Zone 3 on Friday the 15th, friends!
Cheers,
Your AERONAUT flight crew
*The pindrop sessions are presented In partnership with WGBH (Boston’s PBS affiliate and local NPR station) and 99.5 WCRB, Classical Radio Boston.
