We all have causes that we care deeply about. We support these causes in many ways, from volunteering with nonprofit organizations, to fundraising through running races or participating in walks, to crowdfunding via social media. Do you want to learn how to be a better advocate for the causes you support? Want to gain the skills to be a great non-profit volunteer, board member, or leader?
Inspired by the Learning by Giving Foundation's model for educating the next generation of philanthropic leaders, Advocate: Pitch with Impact is an interactive workshop that offers attendees the tools to advocate through storytelling and garner support for a cause. The program features an overview of storytelling and the purposes of stories, a how-to on the mechanics of storytelling and effectively conveying impact, and guided practice.
We will begin with a brief welcome and then dive right in to the workshop! Beer and snacks will be provided.
The Emerging Leaders Council is a group of young professionals in Boston who work to educate, engage, and equip the next generation of philanthropic leaders who want to make a local impact.
Advocate: Pitch with Impact is the second event of a four-part series that highlights the core tenants of philanthropy education, provides networking opportunities with peers, showcases local organizations, and connects talented volunteers with organizations seeking skills-based support.
