Saraswathi Jois-- one of the world's premier yoga teachers-- will be in Boston later this month teaching a series of yoga workshops. We also will be having a benefit concert in her honor and ALL are encouraged to come and bring friends to see Indian culture in full swing, with a wonderful guru's presence to boot. You don't need to attend her classes to come, so please spread the word!
Date: Friday, May 18th from 7:00-8:30 PM
Venue: the Armory in Somerville
We will have dancers from Chhandika-Chhandam Institute of Kathak Dance, as well as classical Indian musicians—flute (Sujeet Phanse), tabla (Rajesh Pai K) and vocalist (Shuchita Rao)— playing and singing Hindustani and Kanartic style music
Kids are welcome.
This is also an awesome opportunity to promote musicians and dancers who have dedicated a lifetime to learning and carrying forth traditional arts, while maintaining their day jobs.
All profit from the tour & benefit concert will be donated to Odanadi.org. Odanadi addresses all forms of sexual violence against women and children, with a special focus on human trafficking.
