Election got you feeling stressed? 💃🕺 Shake it off with A Far Cry’s Last Dance, a night of rhythmic, dance-inspired classical music that will help you release the tension and find joy again. Join us Friday, November 8th at 7:30 PM at Jordan Hall for a musical escape you won’t want to miss!
Featuring global styles and dance-inspired compositions, Last Dance delivers everything from the tango-infused Last Round by Osvaldo Golijov, written as an homage to Astor Piazzolla, to Trevor Weston’s Juba for Strings, a celebration of music and dance birthed from the African diaspora. We’ll also bring you Dinuk Wijeratne’s Two Pop Songs on Antique Poems, a contemporary/classical mashup sampling Schubert’s Death and the Maiden, and George Enescu’s Octet for Strings, full of youthful exuberance and lush melodies.
So, take a deep breath, grab your friends, and leave your worries on the dancefloor with A Far Cry. It’s the perfect way to shake off post-election stress—whether we have the results or not!
