It's only a bit more than two weeks away that the Compaq Big Band will help New England celebrate the holidays with “A Big Band Christmas at Ryles” on Thursday December 21st. This will be an extended Christmas program at one of our favorite venues - the up-close-and-personal atmosphere with great acoustics only experienced at Ryles Jazz Club.


Pass the word to friends, family, and co-workers to join us for an evening of unique, high powered and inspiring holiday and seasonal charts that you’re unlikely to hear other big bands in the Boston area perform.


The December 21st program will feature instrumental arrangements from the bands of Tom Kubis, Gordon Goodwin, Count Basie, Sammy Nestico, John Clayton, and more, plus the stupendous Renee Dupuis on vocals performed by Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall, Linda Eder, and others.


The shows begins at 8:30pm. Admission is $15. PURCHASING TICKETS IN ADVANCE IS ENCOURAGED by going to www.rylesjazz.com or by calling 617.876.9330. Reservations for six or more can be made by calling the club. All other seating is General Admission – get there early for good seats.


Ryles is located at 212 Hampshire Street off Inman Square in Cambridge, MA and serves Mitch’s BBQ. Casual atmosphere and full bar. There are lots of other great food options in and around Inman Square, too.


Holdin’ down the fort that night are regulars John Finocchiaro, Mark Stanaford, Jerry Griep, Scott Taylor, Thomas Borning, Bruce D. McLeod, Jeff Sawyer, Peter Sokolowski, Rick A. Hansen, Dennis Cecere, Dave King, Gil Bristol, and Jeff Hagan, along with super-subs Leslie Havens, Carl Benevides, Nate Jorgensen, Steve Ruzich and Mike Peipman.
