Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and it’s become a federal holiday full of cultural celebrations and Black joy. Boston is showing out for the occasion with free museum admission, parades, performances, lectures, and more.

Juneteenth Open House at MFA Boston
When: Wednesday 6/19, 10am-5pm
Where: Fenway

Info: Admission to the MFA is free for Massachusetts residents on Juneteenth, including access to the special exhibit “Hallyu! The Korean Wave.” While you’re there, see live performances, participate in art making activities, attend a drag story hour, experiment with face painting, and more.

Info: The ICA is free to all on Juneteenth and so is the water taxi across the harbor to their Watershed location, although advanced reservations are required. On the Seaport side enjoy live music from local jazz musicians from 12-4pm while overlooking the waterfront.
