10 Holiday Lighting Celebrations Coming to Boston in 2023 [11/20/23]

Get ready to light up your holiday season with Boston's top lighting ceremonies for the 2023 season. From the iconic Boston Common tree to the sparkling lights of the Comm Ave Mall and beyond, mark your calendar for a magical season in the city.

1) NORTH END WATERFRONT TRELLIS LIGHTING

Date: Monday, 11/20 at 5pm

Info: 50,000 blue lights will illuminate 260 feet of trellis, along with 14 decorated trees nearby. Enjoy the holiday sing-alongs and a visit from Santa Claus, along with cookies, hot chocolate, and clam chowder.

2) FANEUIL HALL TREE LIGHTING

Date: Tuesday, November 21 at 4pm

Info: The Faneuil Hall Marketplace Tree Lighting Ceremony is happening the week of Thanksgiving. Santa flips the lights at 6pm. Enjoy free Ben & Jerry's ice cream and hot chocolate.

3) MARTIN'S PARK SHIP LIGHTING

Date: Saturday, 11/25 at 4pm

Info: Join Martin's Park in celebrating the holiday season with their third annual Ship Lighting in Seaport.

4) BOSTON COMMON HOLIDAY TREE

Date: Thursday, 11/30 at 6pm

Info: The start of the holiday season in Boston commences with the illumination of Boston's official Christmas tree, as well as the trees adorning both Boston Common and the Public Garden.

5) COMM AVE MALL HOLIDAY LIGHTS

Date: Thursday, 11/30 at 8pm

Info: This is one of, if not *the* biggest annual light installations in Boston. Refreshments such as cookies and hot chocolate will be provided by The Newbury.

6) LIGHT UP SEAPORT

Date: Friday, 12/1 at 5pm

Info: The Boston Seaport is hosting their annual tree lighting ceremony, Light Up Seaport, on the first day of December 2023.

7) MACY'S HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING

8) MENORAH LIGHTING SEAPORT

Date: Sunday 12/10 at 7:30pm

Info: Join Chabad of Downtown Boston, at One Seaport in Boston Seaport, as they light up a tall 9′ Menorah for Hanukkah on Sunday, December 10.

10) BEACON HILL TREE LIGHTING

Date: Thursday, 12/7 at 7pm
