You can play classics like checkers and Monopoly or more serious group games like Settlers of Catan, while connecting with friends and meeting new people.

Knight Moves Board Game Cafe (pictured)

Info: Board games are the particular specialty of Knight Moves in Coolidge Corner. Everything from the classics like checkers and Monopoly to longer-form games like Settlers of Catan are available, plus espresso beverages and cafe bites. 


Weekly Board Game Meetup at Tavern of Tales

When: Tuesdays 

Where: Mission Hill

Cost: $15 food and drink minimum 

Info: Every week you can try your hand at various board games during the Tavern of Tales weekly meetup. This is a great way to meet new people and test out board games you’re not familiar with. Plus they have a full bar and menu. If you can’t make the Tuesday meetup, Tavern of Tales is open seven days a week for gaming fun. 


Music Bingo

Where: Jamaica Plain

Info: This isn’t your grandma’s bingo. In this fun twist on the classic, numbers are swapped for songs so you’ll be jamming the whole game through. 


Board Game Speed Dating on Castle Island

Info: Make finding your new boo a little less awkward at this board game speed dating event. You’ll play different games with different people and then make a list of who you’re interested in dating and who you’re interested in being friends with. Where there’s crossover, you’ll be connected! 


After 5 Social: Charity Bingo

Info: Mingle with other local young professionals while you play three rounds of competitive bingo to benefit a good cause. The stakes are high! Prizes include restaurant gift cards, spa vouchers, and other goodies.

Flagons & Dragons: D&D Brewery Takeover

Info: D&D lovers can head to Aeronaut Brewery for a day of adventuring fun. Bring your own crew and utilize the space of pay for a ticket to join a group game led by an experienced Dungeon Master.

Info: The dating process is streamlined (and much more fun) at this speed dating game night for queer women. Try a bunch of different games, meet a bunch of different people, and then get matched with the folks you want to date who are also interested in you at the end of the night.
