The Carroll Center for the Blind's Walk for INDEPENDENCE is a family friendly day that brings the entire community together. Held on Sunday, April 28, this event kicks off with a one- or three-mile walk around the beautiful Newton Centre neighborhood. Bring along your guide dog or family pets – all are welcome to enjoy a cookout, great music, accessible games, giveaways, and much more. All the activities offer unique opportunities for both sighted and visually impaired people to participate; raising awareness about blindness, vision loss and the Carroll Center’s mission. WCVB Channel 5’s Ted Reinstein, Reporter/Producer, Chronicle, will be emceeing the event.
As neighbors within the community, the Walk brings all who attend closer to understanding our differences. Help the Carroll Center for the Blind continue to serve clients of ALL ages and at ALL stages of vision loss achieve their own independence and learn the skills they need to succeed.
