1) 249th Flag Raising at Prospect Hill

Info: Did you know that January 1 also marks the day that General Washington raised the new American flag? In fact, this act took place on the highest point in the land: Prospect Hill in Somerville. To commemorate this historic day, you can enjoy a lively re-enactment, a parade, and some guest appearances from Phillis Wheatley and Martha Washington.

Harvard Art Museums at Night is the perfect way to decompress after a long week of work and kick off your weekend with creativity and inspiration. Explore over 50 galleries, celebrate the opening of their new ‘Joana Choumali: Languages of West African Marketplaces’ exhibit, dance to the sounds of DJ C-Zone, and make some art. Snacks and bevs will be available for purchase to elevate your evening too.

Info: Enjoy an evening of art and culture. Stroll through the 22 galleries of the Peabody Museum and the Harvard Museum of Natural History (don’t forget to check out our favorite exhibit: ‘The Glass Flowers’). Make a paper lantern in honor of Lunar New Year. Sip on fun bevs for purchase and enter a free raffle for a shot at some museum gifts.

Yoga at the Museum of Modern Renaissance

Where: Somerville

Info: Enjoy a guided yoga class in this beautiful building where you’ll have the space to rest and reset to begin your week. Once you’re done, you can let out all the Sunday scaries and dance it out since there will be a live DJ. Mix, mingle, and have fun. 


Immersive Yoga @ The WNDR

Info: This immersive yoga class is nothing like you’ve experienced before. As you stretch and practice mindfulness, you can see your movements come to life with stunning visuals and captivating soundscapes at the WNDR. 


Winter Wildlife Cruise
