1) Trident Booksellers & Cafe


Trident Booksellers & Cafe opened in 1984 and since then has expanded from a small bookstore cafe to a full-service restaurant and two floors of books. Located on Newbury Street in historic Back Bay, Trident is the last general independent bookstore in Boston. 


Menu favorites are the lemon ricotta French toast, vegan cashew chili, and deluxe grilled cheese. We also have a full espresso bar, a large selection of loose leaf teas, beer & wine, and fresh juices and smoothies. Author talks, cooking demos, and other events are held in the upstairs cafe.


Open daily 8:00am - 10:00pm


2) Lovestruck Books


Lovestruck Books is Cambridge's first-of-its-kind romance bookstore, celebrating love in all its forms. More than a bookstore, Lovestruck is a diverse community where every reader belongs. Their expert staff, including founder Rachel Kanter, curates an extensive collection, from classic tropes to groundbreaking narratives, ensuring everyone finds their perfect literary match. Beyond the book-filled aisles, Lovestruck offers a café, romantic merchandise, and engaging events.


George Howell Coffee's latest cafe is located within Cambridge's newest bookstore, Lovestruck Books. Situated in Harvard Square, this is the location of George's first cafe in 1975 (Coffee Connection). Enjoy single-estate coffees, espresso drinks, pastries, and more! 


At night, enjoy the wine bar with a female and romance-inspired wine list, light bites, desserts, coffee, and more! 


Open Sunday - Wednesday from 4:00pm - 9:00pm and Thursday - Saturday, 4:00pm - 10:00pm. 


3) Beacon Hill Books & Cafe


Beacon Hill Books & Cafe is Boston’s newest hangout around the corner, where a lovingly curated selection of reads meets a warm atmosphere, pop-ups and literary events, and a full-range menu of locally sourced fare. This shop is our love letter to Boston.


Enjoy a full lineup of delicious fare from the cozy cafe, featuring a locally sourced menu of drinks, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and supper from celebrated Boston chef Colleen Suhanosky. Reservations are recommended and walk-ins will be accommodated whenever possible.

Open 9:00am - 9:00pm Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00am - 5:00pm on Sundays, and closed on Mondays.
