A one-of-a-kind dance festival that explores the evolution of African Dance in the Americas. Racines Black Dance Festival brings together specialists from a wide range of styles to teach workshops in traditional and contemporary African-rooted dance. Come see how through perseverance, dance and music traveled from Africa through the stain of slavery and the plantations to the present day. Experience workshops, presentations, history, music and culture this fall in Boston!

We are bringing everything from West-African, Brazilian Orixa, Afro Haitian, Puerto-Rican, Bomba, to the early American dances up to House, Breaking and Hip Hop.
Then on the first night, join us for a show by all the artists and staff. A brief look into the culture of black dance in the Americas.

No. This event is open to all ages that want to engage and learn about the history of African dance in the Americas.

Yes. We understand life happens. Unfortunately, the tickets are non-refundable but to make up for this, the tickets are transferrable.
