The Opening Our Doors festival — Boston’s largest day of free cultural experiences — was conceived of and founded by the Fenway Alliance in 2001 with this central mission: to “open the doors” of Boston’s most iconic & historic institutions for a free day of music, art, creativity, performances, and cultural experiences. 


Join Fenway Alliance for the 22nd annual Opening Our Doors Day, a celebration of the Fenway Cultural District!


All free, all access to Boston’s art + cultural hub, the Fenway Cultural District! Performances, activations, art, music, dance, crafts, spoken word, historic walking tours, nature walks, garden tours, and more. Opening Our Doors is Boston’s longest-running & largest day of free cultural experiences!

Join us as we kick-off this year’s Opening Our Doors Day:

Welcome and speaking program with Rep. Will Brownsberger, Rep. Jay Livingstone, and Mayor’s Office of Art & Culture; Reading by Boston Youth Poet Laureate (see bio below); Performance by Boston Children’s Chorus; Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras; Eon Dance Troupe; Children’s Parade with Hot Tamale Brass Band Children’s Parade around the Reflecting Pool on the Christian Science Plaza.


Each year the Fenway Alliance works with our member institutions and many community partners on this day of free programs and performances in some of Boston’s most historic and iconic spaces: Huntington Theatre, Boston Symphony Hall, the Christian Science Plaza, Jordan Hall, Massachusetts Historical Society, and many others up and down Huntington Avenue/Avenue of the Arts.
