It is important that we remember the joys, struggles, traditions, and stories of those who came before us, as it is their shoulders that we stand on. This year marks the 401-year anniversary of the first ship of enslaved Afrikans landing in the united states. It is important that we take the time to commemorate this major milestone in "OurStory" as a community.
OurStory Edutainment invites you to take part in our 2nd annual ancestral remembrance ceremony on August 16th from 4 pm to 6 pm at Green Hill Park. We encourage you to bring photos of those who have passed for our community altar, wear white, and bring flowers and/or fruit for as offerings to the ancestors. If you have a chair or blanket, bring that along as well!
Peace.
