Undoubtedly, 2020 was a year of intensified class struggle. The year began with the Trump administration assassinating Iran’s General Qasem Soleimani, this was followed by the deadly covid-19 pandemic spreading in the U.S. and the catastrophic economic fallout for tens of millions of people in the U.S. because of the deliberate government mishandling of the pandemic, all while the police murdered and brutalized Black and working class communities for simply demanding that the police be held accountable for their actions. In the backdrop of this, the billionaire class enriched themselves to the tune of tens of billions of dollars, and the 2020 elections produced so much pandemonium that sections of organized labor even threatened a general strike if the election was fraudulent or stolen. On the global stage, working class people from Bolivia to India (and many countries in between) have risen up en masse to fight capitalist exploitation.
As a revolutionary socialist party, the Party for Socialism and Liberation intervened in several ways all across the country. Join the Boston branch of the PSL for a lively discussion as we dive into a detailed, socialist analysis of the year in review, including a discussion of the incoming Biden administration and the prospects for struggle in 2021.
