Service on sections of the Orange and Red Lines will be suspended on weekends for construction and infrastructure improvements starting in October. Don’t panic — Bluebikes is here to help! We’re discounting Single Trips to $1 on weekends and providing additional Valet Services at select stations.
We’re offering $1 Single Trips, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, on weekends while the lines are under construction.
Here’s how to redeem:
1) Download the Bluebikes app.
2) Tap ‘Single Trip’.
3) Ride!
Single Trips include 30 minutes of ride time. As always, usage fees apply for longer trips. Code is valid on weekends from October 5th through December 15th. Riding without the app? Grab a code to redeem a Bluebikes kiosk.
The discount code for a $1 ride will be automatically applied when you select "Single Trip" on Saturdays and Sundays, but if you are having issues, try code “BlueCross”.
To ensure bike and dock availability during this period, we’re also providing additional weekend Valet Service at select stations:
— West End Park | 10a-6p
— Copley Square | 10:00a-6p
— Boston City Hall | 10a-6p
We’re adding valets on weekends while construction is underway in areas where they’re most needed, and will be adapting locations as the month goes on.
Orange Line Construction: October 4 – November 10
There will be no Orange Line service between Sullivan Square and Tufts Medical Center. Shuttles will be provided between Sullivan Square and Haymarket.
While construction is underway, check out this 10-minute bike route connecting Haymarket with Tufts Medical Center.
If you’d prefer to ride the entire distance impacted by construction, this 30-to-35-minute route has you covered. It features protected biking infrastructure, including the Charles River Esplanade and a bike path between North Point Park and Paul Revere Park.
Red Line Construction: November 16 – December 15
There will be no weekend Red Line service between Kendall/MIT and Broadway except for Thanksgiving weekend (November 29 – December 1).
Check out this 20–25-minute bike route connecting the Kendall/MIT and Broadway stations.
