This is a Groupmuse event with a Halloween theme hosted at the home of Sam Bodkin's mother, Dinah Bodkin, the founder of Groupmuse. The concert will feature the music of Kurt Weill and will follow his musical journey as he escapes the Nazis moving from Germany to France and finally settling in the United States. His music is often ironic and sarcastic, it takes a hard look at the role government plays in the subjugation of the lower class. His music is dark yet comic, he contrasts violent lyrics with spritely melodies to create an off kilter balance of unsettling words and sounds.
