Agricultural fairs returned to Boston in 2012. The first fair within the City in over 130 years was held in Jamaica Plain on September 16, of that year. The fair had the feel of a small county fair -- no fairway or rides, but lots of exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, and even a panel of judges who awarded prizes and blue ribbons for entered agricultural products (baked and canned goods, garden produce, and honey).
