Join dancer/visual artist Emily Evans as she and other movement-based artists perform a dance work by Evans that includes improvisation and is inspired by the aesthetics of the Street Piano and the visceral joy of live performance. Dancers Caroline Carbo, MaryRose Blandino and Soshi Moyer join Emily Evans as performers at this outdoor performance. Pianist TBD. Design and painting of this Street Piano is by Emily Evans.
This Street Piano is one of 60 decorated pianos being placed around Boston and Cambridge for the public to play and enjoy Sept 23 – Oct 10, 2016 as part of Street Pianos Boston, produced by Celebrity Series of Boston. Each piano was painted by a local artist and hosted by community organizations in every Boston neighborhood. Since 2008, Play Me, I’m Yours, a community-focused art installation created by Luke Jerram, has been installed in more than 50 cities and reached more than 10 million people globally.
