The new season of Stranger Things premieres at midnight on October 27 and, by the time we begin this series 16 hours later, we trust that you will have already binge-watched the whole thing… So we decided to give you something else to watch in the same spirit. One thing that the streaming show does so well is that it wears its influences on its sleeve while remaining an engaging entity all its own. In this series we present some of the pop culture milestones that are woven into the DNA of Stranger Things: from the films of Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter to the stories of Stephen King, and the 1980s penchant for putting young teens in the path of dangerous adventures.
