Through the alley... back from Hell.
Something wicked returns to Davis Square, when The Wrathskellar re-opens for business this October. A staple of the Halloween season, this annual dark encounter is an immersive blend of burlesque show and haunted house.
The Boston BeauTease (formerly The Boston Babydolls) eschew their usual light-hearted retro burlesque for a haunting evening of dark-themed cabaret, both sinister and sensual. From chanteuses singing of lost love, to sultry dancers out for revenge, this show creates a moody noir-like atmosphere that's more than suitable for the fall season. The soundtrack for The Wrathskellar puts aside the usual upbeat jazz, instead opting for more evocative works from artists like Lotte Lenya, Dead Can Dance, Tom Waits and Gogol Bordello.
The Boston BeauTease are the leading burlesque troupe in New England. We are a Theatre Company in Residence at The Cambridge YMCA Theatre in Central Square and perform there several times a year. We also offer classes and parties at our own studio in Allston, MA.
