Secure your spot on October 18-19 for the 50th Head of the Charles Regatta! Since 1965, rowers have come from far and near to take part in the world's largest Regatta. But the fun isn't limited to competitors - there are many ways for spectators to get involved in the weekend's activities!

Racing runs from 8AM-5PM on both Saturday and Sunday, October 18 & 19, 2014.

Most spectators enjoy watching between the Anderson and Weeks bridges, along the halfway point of the race. With the Weld Exhibition on the Cambridge side, and the Reunion Village on the Boston side, there is plenty to see, do, and taste while watching your favorite crews.

The Head Of The Charles Regatta® (HOCR), the world's largest two-day rowing competition celebrates its 50th race this October, a milestone that the Regatta will commemorate with exciting, inspiring events and offerings. Prominent among them is the HOCR 50th Gala Dinner with an anticipated 700 guests; a 50th documentary exploring the Regatta, which has captivated rowers and spectators alike since 1965; and a 50th History Exhibit, to be located upstream of the Eliot Bridge, near Hospitality Row.

One of the world's preeminent rowing competitions, the 2014 Head Of The Charles Regatta features a variety of races for U.S. and international rowers of all ages and abilities. The 50th Regatta, scheduled this year for October 18 and 19, is expected to attract 11,000 competitors and more than 400,000 spectators.

As has become tradition for the Regatta, the HOCR will also feature a world-class field of competitors, drawing elite athletes from around the world and the United States. Athletes from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand will compete, alongside U.S. competitors from across the country.

BNY Mellon, a global leader in investment management and investment services, returns for the second of a five-year commitment as Presenting Sponsor of HOCR.

To celebrate this historic year, HOCR organizers are inviting fans and competitors to commemorate the milestone in a variety of ways:

> A 50th Gala celebration will be held on Saturday October 18, where Olympians and key Regatta organizers will address rowing teams, alumni groups, clubs, and individuals past and present. The event will be held from 6:00 - 9:30 PM at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School Gymnasium. Individual tickets are $75 ($1,000 for a table of 10) and each guest will receive a HOCR 50th commemorative gift and other 50th souvenirs. For more information, visit: http://bit.ly/HOCR50Gala

> A 50th HOCR documentary film will be unveiled leading up to the event, featuring a historic look at the Regatta, including archival footage and rowing stories from years past. Clips of the film will premiere at the HOCR 50th Gala on October 18, and will be available for purchase throughout Regatta weekend, 2014.

> Fans will also be able to visit the HOCR 50th History Exhibit near Hospitality Row during the weekend's festivities to see historical artifacts, photos, and other HOCR memorabilia from past Regattas.
