For three weekends only live racing is back at Suffolk Downs; Saturday and Sunday, July 9th-10th, Saturday and Sunday, August 6th-7th, and Saturday and Sunday, September 3rd-4th, 2016. The track is pulling out the stops and inviting horse lovers and food lovers alike to come and celebrate live racing, great food from a dozen food trucks, craft beer, live music and entertainment for the whole family. Doors open at 11am for these six Family Fun Days.


There will be 12 to 14 races on each of the three dates. It will be full card of live races including events run on both dirt and grass, in addition to Steeplechase races being contested over hurdles offering purse money in excess of a half-million dollars each day. Steeplechase racing has not taken place at Suffolk Downs since 1997. Some of the East Coast’s top jockeys and horses will compete during these three dates. The purse structure for the festivals will be the second- highest among the East Coast tracks, trailing only Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course.


In addition to the racing, Suffolk Downs will be abuzz with excitement. Activities, all of which take place in front of the Grandstand from 11am – 5pm, include:

• Picnic area
