The Somerville Homeless Coalition (SHC) will host our annual dinner, Under the Roof, on Saturday, April 11th starting at 6 pm at the Center for Arts at the Armory in Somerville. This year, we are excited to be celebrating our 30th Anniversary! To mark this milestone, a number of founding members of the SHC will be in attendance and honored for their initiative, vision, and compassion. While we are still “working to put ourselves out of business,” we are committed to helping those in need for as long as there are homeless and hungry people in our community.
Our event will feature dinner showcasing the fabulous food of Somerville’s Redbones Barbecue, live music from the Loomers, and a silent auction.
All monies raised through this event will help underwrite SHC’s high-demand services, including an adult shelter, a family shelter, food programs, and permanent housing programs. These initiatives involve homeless prevention activities and provide affordable housing with home- based support services to the most at-risk homeless individuals and families in our community.
