The top slammers in the city face off in head-to-head poetry competition!
To celebrate National Poetry Month, greater Boston's oldest and freshest poetry slam venues will take the stage for big-city bragging rights. Poets from each team will use all the tricks of their trade — lyricism, comedy, political fury, and straight-up heartfelt personal narrative — to impress rowdy audience and all-star judges! Team captains Porsha Olayiwola (HS) and Simone Beaubien (BPS) will be responsible for recruiting seven cutthroat slammers each, and they’ll be judged by five hyper-critical American-Idol-style judges, including Mass LEAP leaders Amanda Torres and Alex Charalambides, as well as one-time Cambridge Poet Populist Toni Bee. Featuring special performances from musician Steve Subrizi and comic Wes Hazard, and hosted by Harlym125 and Aimee Rose Ranger.
