Philanthropist David M. Rubenstein is the co-founder and co-chairman of one of the world’s largest and most successful private investment firms, The Carlyle Group; a television host on both PBS and Bloomberg TV; author of four books; and is passionate about American history. He travels the country interviewing leading historians. His skillful questioning of acclaimed writers like Joseph Ellis, Annette Gordon-Reed, Henry Louis Gates, Joanne Freeman, and many others allow viewers both new insights into the American story and a real sense of how history gets made. In his New England appearance this fall, Mr. Rubenstein will interview Massachusetts Historical Society president and acclaimed historian Catherine Allgor about her award-winning book Parlor Politics: In Which the Ladies of Washington Help Build a City and a Government.
