Music and the performing arts have had an enormous influence on the medical careers of many Boston clinicians and researchers, and the study of the arts is increasingly helping to shape the future of clinical care for both adults and children.
During this panel and musical exploration, we invite you to experience the profound impacts and healing capabilities of music and the performing arts.
Hosted by Mass General Hospital pediatrician and founding director of the Longwood Symphony Orchestra Lisa Wong, MD, the panel will include Rudy Tanzi, PhD, named one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in 2015 for his groundbreaking research work into Alzheimer’s disease; and Brian Harris, CEO MEDRhythms who is using music therapy in the treatment of brain-injured patients at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. A special preview of Longwood Symphony’s 2016 season opening concert will conclude the program.
