Beat Hôtel Brings Touch of Ireland to Cambridge’s Harvard Square...
WHAT: On Monday, March, 17th, 2014, Irish eyes will be smiling at Beat Hôtel’s first annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration. In partnership with Boston Irish Tourism Association (BITA), the newly opened brasserie and bar will bring a touch of traditional Irish fare to Harvard Square with Irish-inspired libations and food specials from Executive Chef Rebecca Newell, as well as authentic entertainment from Boston-based musicians, Matt & Shannon Heaton.
Matt & Shannon Heaton bring their shared musical experience and love for Boston’s Irish music scene to the Beat’s stage. Matt has made his musical home in Boston’s Irish scene while Shannon has co-founded Boston’s Celtic Music Fest and teaches for Boston’s Comhaltas. Their modern take on traditional, centuries-old Irish songs, which feature Irish flute and guitar-driven tunes and traditional Irish-style singing, will bring out emotion and Irish pride from the Irish and non-Irish alike. Matt and Shannon’s entertaining and organic onstage banter is almost good as the music (almost)!
Guests can enjoy Irish-inspired food and drink specials from Executive Chef Rebecca Newell including Corned Beef & Cabbage, Traditional Irish Stew & Fish & Chips with Mushy Peas as well as food and drink from Beat’s regular menu such as Shredded Brussels Sprouts salad with smoked trout, bacon, dried cherries and a truffled devil egg ($12), the super-natural Earth Bowl with vegetables, 5-grain pilaf and pumpkin tahini sauce ($20), the Swordfish Tacos with black beans, Spanish rice, salsa ($24) and Short Rib Lasagna with basil, pecorino, pomodoro tomato sauce ($23). Wine enthusiasts will appreciate Beat Hôtel’s acclaimed wine list featuring 24 American artisanal wines on tap and an acclaimed reserve list. Signature concoctions to imbibe include the American Breed, Maker’s Mark, St. Elder Elderflower Liqueur, Apple Cider ($11) and the Granny Takes A Trip, Old Overholt Rye, Bitterman’s Amere Nouvelle, Vya Sweet Vermouth ($10.50). For those looking to extend their St. Patrick’s Day festivities, Cat and the Moon will be playing a beautiful blend of Celtic and Bluegrass at Beat Hôtel on Sunday, March 16th, 2014 from 8:00PM to 12:00AM.
