Pack a blanket and head on over to The Lawn every Friday evening at sunset in June for featured films playing under the stars. Each Friday night we will kick off the evening with a playlist of songs from the movie and about an hour before each film begins different local bands will perform live incorporating tunes from featured flicks. The movie will begin between 8 – 9 p.m., pending sunset. Be sure to check the schedule.

Hairspray (2007): American musical romantic comedy based on the 2002 Broadway musical, which in turn was based on John Waters‘ 1988 comedy film. Set in 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, the film follows the “pleasantly plump” teenager Tracy Turnblad as she pursues stardom as a dancer on a local TV show and rallies against racial segregation.

In the story, a giant man-eating great white shark attacks beachgoers on Amity Island, a fictional New England summer resort town, prompting the local police chief to hunt it with the help of a marine biologist and a professional shark hunter.
