In this brand new series of classes at Bonde, we’re going deep into one aspect of the wine world. In this second installment, we're looking at the wine's evolution in the glass.
Can you drink a wine right after opening, or do you have to let it breathe? How should you let it breathe? How would you know? In this deep-dive class, we’re exploring how a wine evolves after it’s been opened with a unique format: we’ll pour a bottle at the beginning of class and see how it evolves over the course of the evening by smelling and tasting it periodically. Then, we’ll open a second bottle of the same wine at the end of the class, so we can compare the freshly poured wine against the same wine that has had time to open up. Throughout the evening, we’ll discuss decanting and carafing and their different types, as well as the basics of wine aromas and why aromatics change as a wine breathes. This is a great class for wine lovers of all stripes that want to make sure they are getting the most out of their bottles.
This class is 90 minutes and costs $75, which includes a tasting of wine with light snacks. It is limited to up to nine participants.
We host all sorts of events at the shop—see them all here, or follow us on Instagram or Facebook.
