Founded in 1973, the award-winning Blacksmith House Poetry Series brings established and emerging writers of poetry and fiction to Harvard Square. In person readings will take place at 56 Brattle on Mondays at 8pm. Admission is $3. Please register in advance.
Martha Collins
Martha Collins's eleventh book of poetry is Casualty Reports (Pittsburgh, 2022); her tenth, Because What Else Could I Do (Pittsburgh, 2019), won the William Carlos Williams Award. Her fifth volume of co-translated Vietnamese poetry, Dreaming the Mountain: Poems by Tue Sy, will be published in 2023. Collins founded the creative writing program at University of Massachusetts, Boston and later taught at Oberlin College.
Carl Phillips
Carl Phillips is the author, most recently, of Then the War: And Selected Poems 2007-2020. His prose book My Trade is Mystery: Seven Meditations from a Life in Writing will be out in November. Phillips teaches at Washington University in Saint Louis.
