Indie rock quartet Bent Shapes specializes in hyper-literate, tightly wound and irreverent sounds that they've dubbed "hyphy nerd pop for underdogs." They've earned praise from NPR and Pitchfork and toured with complementary acts like John Vanderslice, Ted Leo and F***ed Up. Now, they're hitting up the Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre with their Modern Lovers-influenced rock. Joining them in this Black Box Sounds showcase is Aloud, a four-piece band co-fronted by husband and wife Henry Beguiristain and Jen de la Osa, featured on MTV, ESPN and NPR's Innovation Hub and praised by the Boston Globe for "powerhouse vocals" and "soulful delivery." You'll also see Tommy Palmer who'll be flying solo from his art pop act Babydriver.
