Castle of our Skins kicks off its season with its first ever portrait concert featuring Boston's new, contemporary music string trio Sound Energy (Micah Brightwell, violin; Ashleigh Gordon, viola; Benjamin Swartz, cello) with guest violinist Annagret Klaua, and the kaleidoscopic music of Jeffrey Mumford. Ranging from solo violin to string duos, trios and his monstrous string quartet entitled a veil of liquid diamonds, this program will bring a healthy dose of this uniquely rich African American voice to Boston. This program is supported by New Music USA, made possible by annual program support and/or endowment gifts from the Helen F. Whitaker Fund and the Aaron Copland Fund for Music.
